EUROPEAN
KARATE FEDERATION, EKF, IS THE NEW NAME OF EKU
At the last congress of EKU was decided that the organisation in the future
will be named EKF, European Karate Federation.
WHAT
IS EUROPEAN KARATE FEDERATION, EKF
EKF is the official body for karate in Europe. The organisation is a member
of the World Karate Federation (WKF), which organisation is recognised
by the International Olympic Comitte (IOC). EKF organise every year the
European Championships in Karate for men and women, seniors and juniors.
EKF´s
OBJECTIVES
The objectives of EKF are the unification of all European karateka who
practice either sport karate or traditional karate and the promotion of
friendly bonds, spirit and passion among athletes world-wide. EKF co-ordinates
all karate activity throughout Europe, establishes technical and operational
rules, organises and controls international meetings, represents the European
Karate and makes decisions upon various matters that may arise between
Federations members.
An important aim for EKF is that karate will be included as a sport
in the Olympic Games.
The
CONGRESS
The Congress is held once every year in time and place present during
the previous Congress. It is held during the European Senior Championships
in the same city. Each national Federation-member may be represented in
the Congress by two delegates maximum. The Congress approves the statues
and makes all necessary modifications. It also elects all office holders,
takes final decisions, approves the statues and the rules makes all necessary
modifications and makes decisions as the superior authority upon all karate
affairs. It examines all approves or disapproves accordingly.
